Throat cancer refers to cancer of the esophagus, cancer of the vocal cords above the lungs, cancer of the outer thyroid gland, and sometimes cancer of the salivary glands.
To make it easier to understand, throat cancer is a disease of the esophagus that starts in the mouth and travels down the esophagus to the lower abdomen.

There are two types:
pharyngeal and laryngeal cancer.
Pharyngeal cancer develops from the throat. Which is on the back of the mouth and inside the nostrils.
Laryngeal cancer develops from the voice box and throat of the psyche. Which is in the shape of a bulb in the upper part of the trachea.
Symptoms of throat cancer:
Frequent sore throat is a very common symptom of throat cancer. If you have cancer in the throat, most people have severe pain when swallowing. Also, it feels like food is sitting in the throat. It is difficult to pronounce the words, but the voice is getting smaller and smaller.
In addition, there are problems such as sore throat, lump in the throat, abnormal weight loss, difficulty in moving the tongue, difficulty in opening the mouth, constant white sores in the mouth, blood in the sputum, bleeding from the nose, and headache.
If such symptoms of throat cancer appear, you should consult a doctor immediately.
How does throat cancer occur?
According to the Memorial Sloan Keating Cancer Center in the United States, the main causes of throat cancer are drug abuse, alcohol, and smoking.
Similarly, lack of nutrients, especially lack fruits and vegetables, and excessive consumption of processed meat can lead to throat cancer.
Throat cancer can be caused by not cleaning your teeth, being exposed to coal dust, and even if you are a member of the family. There is also a risk of Epstein Barr virus and human papillomavirus infection.
What kind of person is most at risk:
According to the Cancer Center, anyone over the age of 65 can get throat cancer. Most of them happen to men. If you experience any of the above symptoms for more than three weeks, you should consult a doctor immediately.
At present, throat cancer is being tested and treated in Nepal through various devices. If the report of a person with such symptoms is 'positive', then the 'stage' of cancer is known.
There are five 'stages' of throat cancer:
Stage Zero: Abnormal cells appear in the throat
Stage One: Tumors of two or smaller centimeters appear in the throat
Stage Two: Tumors are 2 to 4 centimeters long
Stage Three: Tumors grow to more than four centimeters.
Stage Four: Spread to all parts of the neck which can spread to other tissues or organs of the body.
Throat cancer is a very rare cancer. Prevention depends on the stage of cancer. Early detection can reduce the risk of developing cancer. This can be prevented by giving up healthy food, and avoid smoking, and alcohol consumption.
