Germany has built a 5 km long electrified highway (e-highway) near Frankfurt. The truck was driven by electric wires just like the train on the highway. Thomas Schmidler was the first to drive a truck on this highway. The engine's sound was muted as the truck switched from diesel to electric on the highway. It is said to reduce environmental pollution.
